Recover from Convergence Cloud Errors

When adding records via Convergence Cloud with either the standard or custom upload types, you may encounter records that give you errors. The error file will download automatically after you're done uploading, and will also be emailed to you. 

The name of the column in the file with the error information is named Contact Result: Message. Match the errors you have with the options below, then read on for instructions on how to fix your errors.

Possible Convergence Cloud errors

Multiple record matches and duplicate records

For errors #1 and #2, the solution is the same. 

1. Open the errors file that Convergence Cloud gave you.
2. Recreate your upload spreadsheet by copying and pasting the information from the file that contains the data you were trying to upload. Don't include the columns with the error information.
3. Delete all the data for all of your records under the Contact.firstname and Contact.lastname columns, leaving the rest of the fields alone.
4. Re-upload the data extension via Convergence Cloud using either the standard or custom option, whichever you used to originally populate the data.

First or last name longer than xxx

If you get the message that either the first or last name is too long (errors #3 or #4), you'll need to make an adjustment to your data extension. Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the data extension in Marketing Cloud where you are adding records
2. Click on 'Edit Fields'

3. Change the length of either the 'First Name" or 'Last Name' field, whichever is throwing the error, from 50 to 150 and click on 'Save Fields' 

4. Re-upload the data via Convergence Cloud using the standard or custom upload, whichever you used originally.
