Most emails sent out of Marketing Cloud are already using the Email Framework. For those of you who haven't yet adopted it, you have until October 1st.
After that date, we'll be deleting all of the old templates and content blocks in the shared folder in Marketing Cloud.
The Email Framework was designed from the ground up to be mobile responsive, accessible, and to work across email clients. By using it, you won't have to hand-code any of your emails, and they should work without anything breaking.
It also complies with updated IU brand standards, including Rivet, the university's design system.
How to get started
To begin using the email framework, you'll need to request a brand configuration. It stores the setting such as your header information, From name, and social media links.
Once you have your brand configuration, you can learn how to create an email using the Email Framework.
You'll also want to explore the content blocks available in the Email Framework. There is a lot of flexibility in how you lay out the content in your emails. And if you have ideas for new content blocks, or questions about how to use the Email Framework, reach out to mcdoc@iu.edu.
